DOHA THE world’s most expensive purse worth $3.8 million was unveiled for the first time in Middle East at the ongoing Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition.

Known as the ‘Mouawad 1001 diamond purse’, this unique item was certified by the Guinness World Records in November as the most valuable purse in the world.

The heart-shaped product, designed by Robert Mouawad, is made from 18-carat gold and 4,517 pieces of diamonds, out of 105 are yellow, 56 pink and 4356 are colourless gems with a total weight of 381.92 carats.

Speaking at a press conference, Fred Mouawad and Pascal Mouawad, co-guardians of the company, said that they are excited to present this unique piece for the first time in the Middle East.

“It took six months or approximately 8800 hours to make the purse.

This product has been created for a woman who deserves nothing less.

We want to find that person who will own this handbag,” Fred said.

Delighted with the response to their products at the expo, Fred said, “We are excited to participate in the Doha Jewellery and Watches exhibition again this year.

Ever since Mouawad’s inception about 120 years ago, the Middle East has been our valued market.” Regarding the stunning designs of their products, Pascal said, “We want people to experience for themselves the passion we have in creating something that is unique.

This year, our designers have set up a lovely stand that perfectly represents our style.” He said that Mouawad is planning to open a new store in Doha in the near future.
